I have been a little obsessed with this situation for the last few weeks as well. I've become really tired of hearing all the comments from people all over the place especially since most of the time it has become an issue about "celibacy in the Church." The only point I would differ from yours is that I believe that the Bishop's statement was as STRONG as it needed to be; perhaps in knowing that the public was going to be very outspoken about how this was something to be expected of a "man...."
