Back Again

You know, historically, August has been a bad month for me. This is only the second post I’ve ever made in the month of August. EVER. It’s all about to change. I just got back from a week at the beach with my family. As you saw I did have access to a computer one day thanks to my sister in law who came to visit and brought her laptop. Thanks, Li! But now I’m back and I can get back on track.

Now I am a bit upset at myself for a couple of reasons. This trip has brought about two changes.

Number 1. I was doing great and doing my daily P90X workout until my sister and brother in law showed up with their kids. You see they stayed with us for a couple of days (it was awesome having them. We had a blast) but their wasn’t much room for everybody, so my sis and her hubby slept on a sofa bed in the living area of our villa. Unfortunately, this was the same living area where I did my workout daily right before going to bed. This meant that I was unable to do my yoga on Friday and Saturday. This has thrown me two days off. I’ll make up one day easily by working out on my rest day tomorrow. But I’ll still be one workout behind. I guess I’m going to have to live with doing my P90X in 91 days. SHHH. Don’t tell anyone. I did just finish doing the yoga now, so I’m back on track.

Change #2. At some point on Friday my brother in law and I began discussing chest hair, and in particular what he called a rug on my chest. While talking about how I saw no use for shaving my chest, my wife jumped in and suggested that I trim my hair at least, much the same way my brother in law does. I was against it, but after some prodding, I gave in. Peer Pressure at 38. Who would have thunk it? Well, I did it and I’m not too thrilled about it. I miss my hair. On the flip side, my wife does seem to like it. Then again, I had a great tan from being out in the sun for a week and now I have a huge white spot in the middle of my chest where my hair used to be. It just looks odd. But then again, I now see why men in before and after shots always have trimmed or shaved chests for the after shots. It’s amazing how much more definition can be seen without all that hair in the way. So, in the end though I don’t like the look, I must admit it’s cleaner and does show my progress a little better.

Well, expect to start seeing the posts more often again. I will keep you all up to date on how things are going. I’ll be doing my legs and back tomorrow. See you tomorrow.
