Let the Rain Come

I normally don’t like it when it begins to rain
I wish it would stop and let sunshine remain
But lately the rain has been a welcome sight
Let it rain through the day and into the night
The drought we have had has left the grass dead
Leaving ugly patches of brown in its stead
So when the clouds started forming I found myself praying
That the drops falling from the sky would keep spraying
Hopefully the water the clouds send will give aid
To each thirsting flower and to every grass blade
And the more it rains now, the happier I’ll be
When it finally stops raining again, don’t you see?
