Rhyming for Rhymes Sake

Poetry can be tough because you want your poem to make sense

If the poem doesn’t have a story it may make the poet seem dense

So why don’t I just write lines that I am certain are going to rhyme?

By not including a thought process, it will save me lots of time

Yet still I have to worry about the meter I plan to use

And should I use real long words or a vocabulary that will amuse?

Just when I thought this poetry thing would become a piece of cake

I’ve found another obstacle keeping me from rhyming for rhymes sake
