Hiding Curls

Hiding Curls

There once was a man with curly hair

So curly in fact, that everybody would stare

He shaved his whole head and left it bare

Then people gawked at it because nothing was there.

The poor man knelt down and he said a short prayer

“O Lord please help me so that I may not to care

Or at least so that I may not be so aware

Of people looking at me because it’s not fair

That I have been cursed with a head that’s so rare.”

The Lord quickly replied, “Now son, don’t you dare

Do something drastic upon a barber’s chair,

Then blame me cause your head’s the shape of a pear.

So I didn’t give you the dance moves of Fred Astaire,

But I gave you some curls that provide great flare.”

The man said, “You know if I had to compare,

I much preferred how my hair fluttered in the air

when I climbed up the mountain back in Montpelier.”

The man was so happy that God took time to share

He grew back his hair and showed it off everywhere.

Now he avoids all razors and sheers and even Nair

So everyone could stare at his God given hair.
